World Water Rising!

COMMUNITY EVENT

Location:

Blue Lake Casino & Hotel's Sapphire Palace

Saturday Mar 25, 2017

6:00 pm

Over the past several months you have witnessed the strength of indigenous communities and non-indigenous allies coming together for a common cause in Standing Rock, ND to fight for the very basic rights of the land, healthy communities, and clean water.

The Dakota Access Pipeline project would cross under the Missouri River just upstream of the Tribe's drinking water supply, where a spill would mean a serious threat to the Tribe's health, culture, and way of life, not to mention the drinking water supply for 18 million people downstream. The pipeline is a direct threat to Standing Rock's water, land, and culture. While Water Protectors continue to face violence and intimidation from militarized security and police in response to their peaceful protest, they vow to fight for what is right for their communities and culture

Many of us from the north coast tribal and non-tribal community went to Standing Rock to stand in solidarity and were incredibly inspired by the spirit of that action. We have dedicated ourselves to ensuring this movement continues to expand for the protection of our waters, our land, and our cultures not only at Standing Rock, but here on the north coast and beyond.

We have come together to organize and World Water Rising! in celebration of World Water Day.  On Saturday, March 25th. World Water Rising! will hosted by the Blue Lake Rancheria at the Sapphire Palace in Blue Lake.  The event will feature presentations by local, national, and international tribal leaders and their allies.

Speakers, Films, Songs and Drums plus a silent auction. Don't forget to bid on the wonderful Co-op gift basket.

Tickets are $25 and available here.
